Our Trip To Chertsey Museum

Hawks Class had a fantastic trip to Chertsey Museum on the 23rd October 2019.  We left school at 9am and walked to the museum ready to start our trip to the Stone Age.

We started the session with an artefact talk where we were able to look at and hold real, and replica, artefacts from the Stone Age.  We learnt about three different Stone Age periods, the different types of houses, and the different types of food that they would have eaten.  Some of the class were lucky enough to be part of the Stone Age 'Fashion Show' and tried on the different clothes that would have been worn during the period.  After this we explored the Museum - we found Stone Age footprints, a model we could build that showed us how they would have made wattle fencing and sketched real bones from the different types of animals from the Stone Age.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the staff that came with us and also to the parent helpers that came with us.  A good morning was had by all.
