We are very pleased to be a Guildford Diocese Affiliated school.

The Anglican Diocese of Guildford covers most of Surrey and NE Hampshire, together with a small number of parishes in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and West Sussex. The Diocese has a special responsibility to it’s Church of England Voluntary Aided and Voluntary Controlled schools, of which there are currently 85. The Diocesan Education Department actively supports its schools by providing training, advice, consultancy and expertise on all school-related matters.

An Affiliated School in Guildford Diocese is one where school, parish and the wider diocese have entered into an informal, time-limited partnership for the benefit of the school.

St Peter's Shared Church

Stepgates has close links with St Peter's Church in Chertsey.

Our children celebrate Harvest Festival and take part in Christmas festivities at the church each year. Volunteers from the church conduct whole school assemblies for the children in our hall every Wednesday morning, an activity the children very much enjoy.

During their services in church their worship ranges from the informal and contemporary to the more traditional, taking place on Sundays and mid-week. Their work with children and families is thriving, as is their ministry to older people. You will receive a warm welcome at St. Peter’s, visitors are welcome.
