On Tuesday 26th March Hawks and Falcons Classes undertook to remove as much plastic rubbish as they could from the area surrounding Stepgates Field.

Armed with litter pickers and sacks provided by Runnymede Borough Council and high viz jackets supplied by Kier the children spent an hour or so collecting rubbish.

Amongst the rubbish we cleared were  bottles, cans, crisp packets, sandwich wrappers, sweet wrappers, countless plastic bags and other more obscure items i.e. shopping trollies, chairs, stools, clothes airers, signage etc.

The rubbish was collected by Runnymede Borough Council and taken away by midday! We managed to fill their truck! The children and staff worked very hard but were amazed by the amount of rubbish they found and very proud of their achievements. We would like to say a very big thank you to school governor and Councillor Mark Nuti for helping to organise the event and for joining us in our litter picking activities.
