Change4life 10 Minute Shake Up

Change4Life 10 Minute Shake Up is back

The latest campaign from Public Health England encourages families to kick off a summer of activity so that children get the recommended 60 minutes of exercise they need each day. It’s much easier to break this down into fun 10 minute bursts and get the whole family involved.

Being active helps improve children’s physical health and mental wellbeing as well as build social skills, boost confidence and maintain a healthy weight. Just 23% of boys and 16% of girls in the South East currently meet the daily national recommended level of activity of 60 minutes.

The 10 Minute Shake Up feature characters from Disney Pixar’s latest animation Cars 3, as well as other Disney favourites from Beauty and the Beast and Moana. New shake ups will be released each week over the summer holidays and will focus on core skills such as running, jumping, throwing, catching and balance. They also aim to inspire longer term activity among children, promoting healthy habits all year round.

It’s easy for families to get involved – make sure you visit Change4Life to find out more.
