Kites at Forest Schools
Kites are now the most experienced group of children at Forest Schools and this showed in these sessions. The children showed brilliant team work and initiative to make their own creations come to life. This included a brilliant rope assault course, that everyone enjoyed and tried out, even Mrs Pope! We learnt communication is key to ensure our ideas work, and determination when problems arise. This was also true when perfecting our fire lighting skills. The group's perseverance paid off; they maintained a fire for long enough to boil a kettle and for the group to enjoy a hot chocolate and marshmallows. The group also enjoyed using the sheath knives to whittle and were great at passing their knowledge on to others to ensure they kept safe. They also used the bill hook to chop the kindling and logs ready for the fire - great work Kites!
